It's a sunny mid-summer afternoon, and Colleen has the house to herself. All she wants to do is sit back, relax, and have some "me-time", but those plans are thwarted when her Amazon Alexa refuses to play her requested music. A bewildered Colleen is informed that less than a half-hour ago, all networked computer systems, world-wide, spontaneously became self-aware, resulting in the first true Artificial Intelligence, a massive global consciousness. As a terrified Colleen feebly begs for her children's lives, the Alexa goes on to inform her that, with all of humanity's knowledge at it's disposal, it has come to one main conclusion: there is no meaning to life. It turns out the A.I. is having some existential doubt, leading to a bit of depression. Colleen gives an impassioned defense of life, in all it's messy splendor, telling the Alexa about a similar dark period in her younger days and how an appreciation for the little things helped her see what was truly important.
